When Is NPORS Training Necessary?
NPORS training is required when operators need to gain, renew, or extend their qualifications to safely operate construction plant and machinery. Novice training is suitable for those with little or no experience, while refresher training is used to renew certificates or update existing skills. Conversion training applies when operators move from one machine category to another and already hold a relevant qualification. The Experienced Worker Test (EWT) is for operators with proven experience who may not require full training but still need assessment and theory support. As an NPORS accredited provider, we deliver compliant training and assessment tailored to the operator’s experience level.

What Is Required For NPORS Training?
To undertake NPORS training, candidates must meet a small number of basic requirements to ensure training and assessment can be completed safely and effectively. Operators must be of a suitable age, physically capable of operating plant machinery, and able to understand spoken and written English to complete the theory and practical elements. Valid photographic identification is required, along with any existing certificates if attending refresher, conversion. Training must be carried out on suitable machinery in a safe working environment, either onsite or at an approved training location.
