Construction Site Awareness Experts

The NPORS Construction Safety Awareness Course (S001) is recognised as fully equivalent to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. This means the course is suitable for labourers. Individuals who successfully complete the NPORS Construction Safety Awareness Course may apply for the CSCS Green Labourer Card, provided they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test.

The NPORS Construction Safety Awareness Course (S001) is necessary for individuals who need to demonstrate a basic understanding of health and safety before working on a construction site. It is commonly required for labourers, entry-level site workers. This course is also required when applying for a CSCS Green Labourer Card, as it meets the qualification requirement when combined with a pass in the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test. Employers may also require this course to ensure workers meet site safety standards and industry compliance requirements before starting work.

To complete the NPORS Construction Safety Awareness Course (S001), there are no formal entry qualifications required. Candidates must have a basic understanding of spoken and written English to follow the course content and complete the assessment. Proof of identity, usually valid photographic ID, is required on the day of training. The course includes classroom-based learning and an assessment which must be passed to achieve certification. For those applying for a CSCS Green Labourer Card, candidates must also pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test separately, as this is not included within the NPORS course.
