When Is Forklift Training Necessary?

 NPORS Training

Forklift training is necessary whenever employees are required to operate a forklift as part of their job. It is essential for ensuring the safety of operators, coworkers, and workplace equipment, as well as for meeting legal and regulatory requirements. Training is particularly important when introducing new operators, updating skills for existing staff, or when using different types of forklifts or work environments that present unique hazards. Proper training also helps businesses maintain compliance, reduce accidents, and improve overall efficiency on site.

What Is Required For Forklift Training?

 NPORS Training

To complete forklift training, participants must meet a few basic requirements. They should have a reasonable level of literacy and understanding of English to follow instructions, complete assessments, and understand health and safety procedures. Participants must be physically capable of operating a forklift safely, including meeting any site-specific medical requirements. A valid form of identification is usually required for certification purposes. For onsite training, access to the relevant forklift(s) and a suitable training area is also necessary to carry out practical exercises safely and effectively.
